Building a brighter future for our children and our school
Most people have heard of a Parent Teacher Association (PTA), but many people are not familiar with the term Parent Teacher Organization. Both organizations assist in building partnerships among parents, teachers and school administrators. The main difference is that members of the PTA must pay school dues, state PTA dues and national PTA dues. At Covered Bridge, we have chosen to establish an organization that directly benefits our children. None of the dues collected from families nor any of the fundraising proceeds are sent to support organizations outside of our schools. The PTO has been very active for many years. PTO meetings are held five times per year on the CBA campus. The meetings facilitate interaction with other parents and planning for events. Often times, a specific Parent Education topic will be highlighted. Parents are invited to join the PTO for a yearly membership fee of $25. If you would like more information regarding membership benefits, you may pick up a membership application in the school office. Two events that have become traditions for the schools are the Fall Festival and Spring Fling. Both events provide great opportunities for families to come out and socialize, play games, listen to the DJ, eat and just have fun. The Spring Fling provides the bonus of watching each class perform on stage. The kids look forward to these events every year! 10 Reasons to Get Involved...
